Meshes of the Afternoon
Nov. 30th, 2007 05:36 pmHELLO AGAIN
I feel the need to share something with you, my friends page, and various other randoms who might be reading. In my film studies class this week, we were watching Avant Garde films. Most of them, in my opinion, were too weird to appreciate, or too disturbing to appreciate, but we saw one from 1943 that I actually thought was rather intriguing. It's called Meshes of the Afternoon, and it depicts various dream states... you know the type, the dream within a dream within a dream, where you don't really know what's real and what's not. It's really well shot and innovative. I was impressed. Anyway, I looked and it's available on Youtube. How ridiculous is that? It's poor quality, but still! It's available to all!
Part One:
Part Two:
As a P.S., if you do want to watch it and find the music a bit weird, I'd mute it, because it wasn't filmed with music anyway. That was added on after the director was dead for years. I find the music kind of creepy/weird.
