May. 13th, 2005 02:03 amOH SQUEE!
This is going to be the nerdiest post ever.
But I just upgraded my computer to Mac OS X 10.4 (aka Tiger), and it is so cool in so many inexplicable ways. Wait, I can explain them.
There's a new program called Dashboard, which is basically the integrated-into-the-OS verison of Konfabulator. But the widgets are like omgamazing. There's one that delivers Wikipedia results to your desktop (sans browser!), another that shows local TV listings (including digital cable), one that does language translation, and whoa I'm in nerd heaven.
ALSO, (most importantly) although I only did an upgrade install (as opposed to a reformat), my computer is going much faster than it did before. Rather, things seem to load faster.
Also I got 4/5 of my marks back and I'm pleasantly surprised! On U of T terms, I did really well. *does the I got an A in Art History dance* oh yeah, bitches. The billions of hours of studying payed off!
I've also mapped out my schedule for next year. I'm taking 6 courses instead of the standard 5, because I'm crazy. I'm taking both French and German next year because it's a good idea to have both of those for post-graduate Art History shtuffs. They also probably want Italian, but fuck that, I'm not doing 3 languages at once.
One of the digital movie networks has been running a Hitchcock movie festival. It's awesome =D Everything about it rocks except when your VCR cuts off the last few minutes of Vertigo, right at the pivotal scene. NOOOOOO. *sob*
There has been wayyy more to life than silly computer upgrades and getting marks back. However, my addiciton to LJland has floated away into the ether, so I haven't written about much. I apologize mostly for not commenting much anymore. I still read, though, and I'll try to get my commenting skillz back now that I have a bit of free time. omg free time, hallelujah.
P.S. My cheesy icon is still teh awesome, B/C ITZ TRU
