( My desktop is so awesome. )
I can't believe that Chanukah is over already. Boooo, that went too quickly. The holiday was never a big present-fest in my family like it is with the rest of the population, but that's fine with me, because I've always liked the latkas better anyway. (As for presents, I got the special edition Gone With The WInd DVD from my parents and U2's How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb from my brother. I'm quite satisfied with that =D I haven't watched G.W.T.W. in like.. 5 years.) I was looking forward to to the latkas, and did my family ever make latkas together during the actual holiday? Of course not. I still have to wait for latkafest, apparently. So, instead, I made them solo last night, and it was not as much fun. No, it wasn't at all. They still tasted awesome, though. For my un-Jewish LJ friends (basically 95% of you =D haha), latkas are these amazing potato pancake things that are amazing. I think that was the most descriptive thing I've ever written in my life.
It's sad when your biggest investment in holidays is the food. But honestly, Chanukah is such a minor little holiday that has only received attention because of its proximity to Christmas on the calendar. So I don't feel that bad. What would be really funny/disturbing is if I were excited for Yom Kippur because of the food ;D (it's a fast day. hahaha.)
Oh, and just in case Elayna is reading this:
TAI: Do you think she's pretty?
CHER: No, she's a full on Monet.
TAI: What's a monet?
CHER: It's like a painting, see? From far away, it's OK, but up close, it's a big old mess.
