rant about jerks.
Oct. 30th, 2004 10:13 pmFirst order of business: I went to see The Tea Party live for the very first time (excluding White Ribbon), and I can't shut up about how amazing they were. Best live band ever. BNL may be the second best live band ever (because they are a lot of fun), but this band is in a class of its own. I don't even know the names of all of the exotic instruments that Jeff M. pulled out. Dude.
Second order of business: If I can help it, I am NEVER EVER going back to the venue (the "Kool Haus" - more like the KRAP HAUS) if I can help it. Why? Security took my camera, reformatted all of the pictures, and almost ejected my brother from the building during the concert.
( obligatory profanity )
Here's the story: I was taking pictures like I always do, and my brother, who is 6'1" or so, offered to take a few shots for me because he's really tall and I'm really not. So he's snappin away, and Security comes through the crowd with flashlights, and grabs David + camera. I rush out to the front and ask some security guy what they do with the people who they catch with cameras (how was I supposed to know where to find him?) and he told me that they eject these people from the building and that they can't get back in. I begged for like 10 minutes to just let the poor Freak back in, but he was a jerk. Then I get back to the concert area (having missed one of my favourite songs), and my brother is back in there. WTF (in a good way). But they formatted my memory card -_____________-
Wow, those Security folk there are PSYCHIC! How did they know that I was going to take my wonderful, high-quality pictures and sell them for profit and run them out of business? It's a good thing they caught me! My deviance was, of course, much worse than the 75% of the room that was smoking pot and cigarettes. And we all know that picture-taking is illegal, whilst smoking up is not.
Edit: For Kat, who has an awesome memory, David Usher is my third favourite live performer. :) Or tied for second.
